Scholarships
Education is a vital part of advancing the status of women. Zonta
International offers scholarships and program assistance to women from
high school to graduate school.
The following scholarships are supported by the Zonta Club
of New York.

Dorothy Stickney Scholarship Winner 2005

Dorothy Stickney Scholarship
This scholarship, begun in 1981, recognizes a college senior majoring
in the theater arts. The $1,500 award is presented in memory of Dorothy
Stickney, a former Broadway actress and member of the Zonta Club of New
York. Past winners have become play directors, theater arts technicians,
managers and actresses, e.g., Tina Landau, Allegra Shorr and Donna Lynne
Champlin.

YWPA Scholarship Winner 2005

Young Woman in Public Affairs Scholarship
This
scholarship is designed to encourage young women to pursue careers
and seek leadership positions in public policy, government and volunteer
organizations. It is a $500 annual club award, following a mid-January
submission deadline.

Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship Winner 2005

Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship
This
scholarship, established in 1997, is designed to encourage undergraduate
women to enter careers in business-related fields. Applications are available
from local clubs and are due in April 30th. Our club winner receives a
$400 scholarship and advances to compete at the District 3 level. District
winners receive $400 each and are submitted for judging at the international
level. Zonta International awards four scholarships of $4,000 each.
Amelia Earhart Fellowship Award (awarded
at the international level only)
Zonta
International established this scholarship in 1938 in honor of Amelia
Earhart, famed pilot and member of the Zonta Club of New York. Fellowships
are granted annually to women pursuing graduate degrees in aerospace-related
sciences and aerospace-related engineering. For more information, specifics
