Join Us
Zonta membership is by invitation. Members should be willing to support
and implement the objects of Zonta International through the commitment
of time, resources, finances and the passion to advance the status of women.
Eligibility and Classification
Membership is open to those in decision-making positions in a recognized
business and profession and working at least 50 percent of a normal workweek.
Member classification is based on occupations and the Zonta classification
system.
Membership Responsibility
As a member, it is your responsibility to:
- Regularly attend club and relevant committee meetings.
- Pay all dues and fees promptly.
- You are also responsible for identifying and recommending prospective
new members.
- As time and resources allow, you are encouraged to attend area,
district and international meetings, workshops, conferences and conventions.
Membership Process
The membership process is straightforward. First, you must attend three
functions. Second, you and your sponsor fill out the membership application
that goes to the membership chairman whose committee determines your eligibility
and then forwards the application for review and approval at the next monthly
business meeting. Third, the application information is posted for one
month in the clubs newsletter and club members consider your nomination
for membership. Finally, you will be mailed a letter inviting you to join
our club.
